With the New Year a lot of people make resolutions. Since I had already resolved to get healthier I decided this was a resolution I would just keep into the New Year. I did however take some time to look at how things have been progressing for me since starting my journey to be my best.
Truth is, I am really not happy with the results I have achieved so far! One thing that was not to my satisfaction was the amount of weight I have lost; a total of 12 pounds. I really felt I would have lost more by now.
Another area that needed to be changed was the amount of exercise I was doing. So I decided to start exercising in the evening. On previously diets I seemed to have more success at losing weight when I did some exercise (even just 15 minutes) before I could go to bed at night. This would mean that even at 10:00pm I would be on the elliptical. When I made this commitment to add the exercise at night I found I was sticking with the diet longer and actually sleeping better too. So for the month of January I am going to change the routine up and see how I do. Another thing I have decided is to start walking either outside or on the treadmill for 15 minutes every day. My plan is to add 5 minutes each week until I hit 30 minutes. The goal is to have at least 10,000 steps a day.
Now as far as my food intake, I have noticed after reviewing my entries that I am lacking protein. Protein is essential for weight-loss to retain the muscle and loss the fat. To help fill in this gap I will be adding another protein shake to my daily regimen.
I am also going to do a kick start for the year and do the “Dump the Junk - 5 Day Mini Cleanse”.
As I mentioned before this will be a 5 day cleanse and will help me jump start my new routine by helping eliminate craving and flush my body of built up toxins. I've done this program in the past and LOVED it. It is a very easy program to follow...and you won't find yourself starving at the end of each day!
