Feeling focused and motivated

Wow, that is the words that come to mind after completing my 5 day Dump the Junk. Not only was I able to lose 4 pounds but I had tons of energy! It really was the kick start I needed to get going this year especially with the slump I was experiencing at the end of December. All 5 days were pretty easy with the exception of the 5th day, when the thought of another salad for dinner was really hard to swallow. Hee Hee (sorry I couldn’t resist). With that said I am happy to report that I did push through and I ate that 5th salad for dinner and I am glad I did.

The extra energy I experienced also made a big difference. For the first time since starting on this journey I was able to get over 10,000 steps 5 out of 7 days. This was quite the accomplishment for me, before I never had the energy to achieve quite this many steps in one day. Some of this new found enthusiasm for exercise may have also come from moving my exercise routine to the evenings. But, whatever it was this combination seems to have done the trick. I am now achieving 20-30 minutes each time and not just the 15 minutes I set out to do. So here’s to continued success with my weigh in’s and maintaining the 10,000 steps each day.

I did jump on the scales a few days in a row after doing the “Dump the Junk” and my weight had fluctuated but, I was still excited because I feel like I have lost weight and have the needed energy to push along.



If only it were this easy :)
